Krabi is called the gem of the Andaman Sea and it is the third most popular holiday destination in southern Thailand. Krabi is a great place to relax. It is located between Phang Nga and Trang province on the west coast of southern Thailand at the mouth of the Krabi River where it empties in Phang Nga Bay. Krabi home to several National Parks with over 130 surrounding islands waiting to be explored. It’s more convenient to come to Krabi by Air. Krabi International Airport (KBV) is about 15 km from the city centre and Thai Airways operates daily direct flights to/from Bangkok. You can also come by road. Krabi is on Highway 4, shared song-thaews (bhat bus) frequently come and go from Ao Nang to Krabi which cost about 40B. Buses are regular from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal to Krabi costing 500B.
The majority of people holidaying in Krabi Province choose to stay right on the coast at Ao Nang Beach or its adjoining bays rather than in Krabi Town. Because it only covers a small area most places can be reached easily by foot wherever you stay. Thai Muslims make up the most noticeable sector of the city’s 30,000 residents. So if you like Roti, curry or Biryani then you’ve come to the right place.
The best time to visit Krabi is during the cool monsoon season, from November through March, when it isn’t so humid, and the cool breezes keep things comfortable.
Talay Waek, considered Unseen Thailand, is situated along Koh Dam Khwan. The word “Talay Waek” means “the sea divided” which refers to a phenomenon which occurs when the Andaman Sea flows in two directions; being parted by a long sand bar which links three islands, namely Koh Tab, Koh Kai, Koh Mo. The best time to visit Thale Waek is five days before and after the full moon from December to the beginning of May.

Sa Morakot is situated in "Khao Pra-Bang Kram Wildlife Sanctuary" at Klong Thom District, Krabi. This is an astonishly-hued and large natural pool that is filled with pure spring water. It is a wonder of nature in which warm water streams create 4 ponds with water as green as emerald. In order to see the real color of the pool, you should visit the pool at dawn or early in the morning.

The Tiger Cave Temple or Wat Tham Suea is a Buddhist temple northeast of Krabi. The whole place is considered by Thais to be very sacred and is as it were a place of pilgrimage for the faithful Buddhists from across the country. The main tourist attraction in the temple complex is the 1,272 step climb up a limestone tower to see the "footprint of the Buddha".

Susan Hoi also known as Fossils Shell Beach located 17 kilometres from Krabi town centre on a 200 metre stretch along Ban Laem Pho. The age of the fossils at Susaan Hoi is placed as about 40 million years ago. This is great place to visit if you’re interested in geology or historical artefacts.
